急告、急告～！ 開催日当日に失礼します。下のエントリーでも触れたロン・リージー・ジュニアの展示も切り盛りするヴィクトリア・ロングが、本日からマンブルボーイこと花田欣也さんとの二人展を名古屋で開催します。夜７時からのオープニング・レセプションではナイスなバンドも出演するので（しかも無料！）、名古屋も天気いいみたいだし、ぜひ皆様お誘い合わせの上どうぞ。

「hopefull feelings」は、花田欣也とヴィクトリア・ロングのふたりのファブリックアートやコラージュ、絵、張り子などのカラフルな作品の展示です。色には原動力があります。私たちは先の見えない闇の中から喜びや躍動する未来への力を信じ強い光を感じることが重要です。素敵な形やスイートな幾何学を、現実逃避ではなく新たなる現実を作り出すために瞑想するのです。忘れないでいましょう。人生を特別なものにするのは他の人との関わりあい。今こそ一緒に明るい未来を想像（創造）する時ではないでしょうか？
花田欣也（マンブルボーイ）はコラージュ、彫刻、絵、Flashアニメーション等のメディアで制作するアーティスト。アメリカを拠点とし、長年デジタルメディアでのアート制作や海外でのVJ活動、コンピューターでのPV制作を経、近年原点である手作りのアート制作に復帰。フィラデルフィアのSpace 1026、ニューヨークのLittle Cakes、東京のHaNNaギャラリー等、世界各地で展示開催。2010年より日本に戻り、花田佳緒とMumbreeze名義でも活動中。
Victoria Long（ヴィクトリア・ロング）は日本在住のアメリカ人で、アーティスト兼キュレーター。フィラデルフィアのSpace 1026やブルックリンのSecret Project RobotやボルチモアのOpen Space等でのグループ展に作品を出品。セントラル・バージニアのThankyというDIYポップアップ・ギャラリーの創設者の一人でもある。京都のTrance PopギャラリーやボルチモアのHexagonでの展示をキュレーションしている。the Gee’s Bend Quilters CollectiveやFort Thunder、Sister Corita等にインスパイアされている。
作品の売り上げ全額は東日本大地震の被災者支援の為にセカンドハーベスト・ジャパンへ寄付いたします。
hopeful feelings is a two-person exhibit by Kinya Hanada and Victoria Long featuring colorful fabric art, paintings, collages and paper mache pieces. In dark times, it is important to stay focused on the light. Colors have a joy and power all their own. We can meditate on fantastic shapes and sweet geometry, not to escape reality but to transform it. Let’s remember that what makes life special is being with other humans. Now’s a good time to come together to imagine a bright future, right?
Kinya Hanada aka Mumbleboy is an artist working in the mediums of collage, sculpture, painting, and flash animation. After years of focusing on art in technology, international VJ gigs and computer-animated music videos, he got back to his roots of making artwork by hand. His art has appeared in galleries all over the world, including Space 1026 in Philadelphia, Little Cakes in New York
and Hanna Gallery in Tokyo. He currently lives in Japan and collaborates with his wife Kao Hanada under the moniker Mumbreeze.
Victoria Long is an American artist and curator living in Japan. She is inspired by the Gee’s Bend Quilters Collective, Fort Thunder, and Sister Corita. She has shown her art in group exhibits at Space 1026 in Philadelphia, Secret Project Robot in Brooklyn, Open Space in Baltimore, and elsewhere. She co-founded a DIY pop-up gallery in Central Virginia called Thanky, where she curated exhibits and presented concerts. She has also curated exhibits at Trance Pop Gallery in Kyoto and the Hexagon in Baltimore.
Proceeds from the sales of artwork will be donated to Second Harvest Japan to help victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
